Delete Your Account

No login needed to read this page. This page works whether or not you have the CheckNuh app installed. You can delete your account from inside the app, or by emailing us — both are described below.
Two ways to delete your account
If you have the app
Delete in-app
- Open CheckNuh and sign in.
- Open the menu and go to Settings (customers and businesses).
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Answer four quick questions about why you're leaving (comments are optional), then confirm with your password, or type "DELETE" if you signed in with Google or Apple.
Your account is deactivated immediately and can't be used to sign in again — see the timeline below for what happens next.
If you can't log in, or don't have the app
Request by email
- Email support@checknuh.com from the email address on your account.
- Use the subject line "Delete my account".
- We verify the request and delete the account manually.
Processed within 5 business days. We may ask a follow-up question to confirm it's really you.
What happens, and when

| Immediately | Your account is deactivated. You (or anyone with your login) can no longer sign in, and any active subscription (Basic / Pro) is canceled — no further charges. If you're a business, your listings are removed from search right away. |
| 7 days later | Your data is permanently erased — see the table below for exactly what. This step can't be undone. |
If you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, cancel that subscription separately. Deleting your CheckNuh account does not cancel it — only Apple or Google can, from your device's own subscription settings. If you don't, you'll keep being charged after your account is gone.
There's currently no self-service way to cancel a deletion request once you've submitted it — make sure before you confirm. If you email us within the 7-day window, we'll do what we can, but we can't promise it's always possible.
What gets deleted
Deletion is permanent once it completes. Here's exactly what happens to your data:

| Active subscription (Basic / Pro) | Canceled immediately — no further charges |
| Past orders & payment records | Kept — required for accounting, tax, and fraud records |
| Messages you sent to other users | Kept in the other person's conversation, no longer linked to your identity |
| Why you told us you were leaving | Kept internally as anonymous product feedback — never linked back to your account after deletion completes |
Financial records are retained only as long as Jamaican and applicable international law requires, and are never used for anything beyond accounting and fraud prevention once your account is deleted. See our Privacy Policy for the full retention policy.
